Nominees must apply before 4:30 p.m. April 27
The Town of Oakville is looking for someone to fill the role of Ward 4 town councillor.
Oakville council voted to declare the seat vacant during their Tuesday, April 3 meeting.
The move follows the sudden resignation of Roger Lapworth, who held the seat since 2006.
Lapworth announced his resignation last week citing personal reasons.

But this treasure trove of luxury valuables was on display Wednesday at a Halton Regional Police division on Oak Walk Dr. in Oakville.
Criminals were targeting high-end items. But the lucrative enterprise came crashing down thanks to some high-end policing.

Annual state of the town economy speech well received at Chamber of Commerce
The only risk to the success of Oakville is Donald Trump.
At least that’s what Oakville Mayor Rob Burton believes when he was asked what risks business owners have to face during the Mayor’s Business Breakfast, hosted by the Oakville Chamber of Commerce April 3 at the Oakville Conference Centre.
Burton provided the economic update to a packed auditorium — 320 people attended — of local business leaders, politicians and several of Halton regional police’s top brass.
